Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate
Completion of the Pool Lifeguard Skills Award (PLSA) and Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC), covering Unit Standards 30123, 30124 and 29848.
Those holding the New Zealand Certificate Aquatics - Level 3 (Pool Lifeguard) meet all of the criteria.
The minimum standard to be operating as a Pool Lifeguard within an aquatics facility's safety management plan.
Professional development: Expectation that person undergoes ongoing training - covered in attestation
Experience as Pool Lifeguard: Expectation that person has recent work experience - covered in attestation
Personal experience: No fixed experience criteria but candidate must be assessed as able to swim 200m in under six minutes
First Aid/CPR: Current First Aid Certificate
Attestation: Accredited Assessor of qualification attests that the candidate is current in knowledge, skills and experience, fit for role and of good character.
Police Check: Recommended
